Overview

Lasso has several ways to import your links:

  • Import existing links from your content

  • Import from other WordPress plugins and link cloakers

  • Import from CSVs

Let's look at the specifics!

Import Existing Links from Your Content

There are two types of links you can import straight from your content:

  • Amazon links

  • Links from popular networks (CJ, ShareASale, etc)

Amazon Links

Non-Amazon Links

And if you want to import your non-Amazon affiliate links, all you need to do is:

  1. Go to WordPress > Lasso > Settings.

  2. Ensure that Auto-Detect Affiliate Links is enabled. (If you have to enable it, don't forget to hit Save Changes at the bottom of the page!)

And that's it! Lasso will scan all of your posts and import any affiliate links it finds within 24 hours.

Import from Other WordPress Plugins and Link Cloakers

If you previously used another WordPress plugin or link cloaking tool, you can import your existing links and displays in just a few clicks.

How to Import from Other Tools

1. Navigate to the Lasso WordPress plugin and click the Import tab in the lefthand sidebar.

locating lasso plugin import from the dashboard

2. Lasso will automatically show you a list of all the compatible links available for import. You'll see the name, URL, which plugin it's in, and an import button.

NOTE: If you installed Lasso within the last few hours and don't see your links, please allow up to 24 hours for them to appear.

3. You can use the filter button and the search bar at the top of the page to find a specific plugin, cloaker, or link.

4. Click the green Import button on a few individual links. This way, you can ensure everything works exactly the way you'd like it to before bulk importing.

6. A pop-up modal will ask you to confirm your selection. Click Import one more time to import that link.

7. You'll then see a green check mark inside a circle indicating that the link has finished importing.

8. (Optional) Go back to your Dashboard and see your newly imported link!

9. Click your link to go to the Link Details page, and you can view all your redirects and link settings to ensure the import worked how you wanted it to.

10. Back in the Lasso Import screen, click the green Bulk Import button to import all of your available links at once.

NOTE: If you've filtered for links from a specific plugin, Lasso will only bulk import the links from that plugin.

Lasso will then start importing all of your links. Depending on the number of links you have, this could take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours.

NOTE: We'll space out the processing for this, so it's not consuming too many of your site's resources all at once. πŸ€“

FAQS

Can you revert links that you imported?

It depends on the type of import you did.

If you imported via the Import tab in Lasso, yes, you can revert those. If you import Amazon links, existing affiliate links or from a CSV, you cannot revert them. You will have to delete them from Lasso or restore a backup.

For reverting from the Import tab:

The process is very similar to importing them. All you need to do is navigate back to the Imports tab in Lasso and click the red Revert button.

Lasso will then send that link right back to the plugin you originally imported it from.
