How can I lock my students out of practice?

Prevent students from working outside of class, deter cheating; lock students out of GMM

Teachers can disable student access to practice using the slider next to the class name. Teachers may choose to disable practice to prevent cheating outside of the classroom or to prevent students from practicing during instruction.

Note: Co-teachers can lock and unlock practice.

Choose CLASSES from the blue ribbon.

Choose a class from the left column.

Locate the Practice slider (padlock).

By default, practice is enabled for all students. The slider is on (blue).

Toggle the slider off (gray) to lock students out of practice.

To unlock practice:

Toggle the slider on (blue).

In this screenshot, practice is locked for 1st period and 7th period. The practice sliders are gray, the assignment or Spiral Review icon is gray, and the oval on the upper right is gray with Practice locked.

Student view and access during locked practice

When practice is turned off, students can still log in and switch between classes, but they will not have access to assignments or Spiral Review. They can still access their calendars or Work History.

When the teacher locks practice and students are working in GMM, the student

receives a 30-second warning to complete the current problem.

When practice is locked, students still have access to available exams. To access an exam, students will click on the student menu to view available exams.
