How do I schedule an assignment?

Teachers may schedule an assignment's release for a later date.

โ€‹NOTE: Teachers should provide guided practice before giving an assignment to a class. By modeling how to solve problems and input answers, teachers are setting their students up for success. Click here to read an article about this best practice.

To schedule an assignment:

Choose WORK from the blue ribbon.

Choose the assignment from the left column.

Click ASSIGN.

Choose the class, or classes, to receive the assignment.

Click the blue oval to edit the release date from Immediate to the desired date and time.

Click ASSIGN at the bottom of the box.

The assignment will be released to the class at the chosen time. Skills included in the assignment will be added to Spiral Review at the release time.

What if I want my assignments to release when I click ASSIGN?

(The way GMM has previously worked)

Use Immediate and click ASSIGN. The assignment is immediately released to the class and the skills are immediately added to Spiral Review.

I scheduled the assignment to be released tomorrow, and I changed my mind. I want to stop the release. How do I stop the scheduled assignment?

Choose CLASSES.

Choose the class from the left column.

Choose ASSIGNMENTS from the middle gray column.

Click the trashcan to remove the scheduled assignment from the class.

Choose CLASSES.

Choose the class from the left column.

Choose ASSIGNMENTS from the middle gray column.

Click the pencil to alter the release date and time.

What does IMMEDIATE mean?

IMMEDIATE means the assignment is immediately available to your students. Normally, this is the path of release for assignments.

GMM Best Practice: Teachers provide instruction and guided practice using GMM's full screen button or PREVIEW button. When students are ready for independent practice, teachers click ASSIGN for an assignment and use IMMEDIATE so students begin practicing the newly taught skills.
