How to set up the Acute integration for Intercom to open the feedback widget in custom bots by starting a conversation.

You can ask users for feedback by starting conversations with custom bots and take them to your Acute feedback list in Messenger.

There are many useful cases for this including asking for feedback from user segments (f.e. that have a specific Plan or MRR, from a specific Company, or that signed up 14 days ago) or asking users to upvote existing suggestions to help you prioritize your roadmap.

To set it up you need to create a custom bot and add the Acute app in the bot message. Go to the Operator page, click on Custom bots, go to the From a button section and create a new custom bot.

Give you custom bot a name and add your bot message to the first path. Next, set the bot's reply buttons and route them to your next paths.ย 

To trigger Acute's widget list in Messenger from the reply button, go to the next path and add a bot message. From the message box insert the Acute app into the conversation.

Set up the rest of the paths with your custom logic and messaging.

Choose a channel for your bot. We recommend using only Web for this.

Next, choose your audience. You can trigger your bot for all your users or only for a specific user segment (i.e. users with a specific plan, paying users or customers with a specific MRR, users from a specific company, etc).

Lastly, save and set your bot live. When your selected audience will open your application the custom bot will trigger and send them your message. If they click the reply button that triggers the Acute app the bot will open the Acute feedback widget in Intercom Messenger.
