Adding an email domain to Carrot

How to add a custom domain to send emails from Carrot

Connecting a sending domain

Your sending domain is the address your automation emails come from (for example, hello@yourstore.com). Connecting and verifying your domain is required, but you only need to do this once.

Step 1 — Add your domain

  1. Select Add sending domain.

  2. Enter the domain you want to send from (for example, yourstore.com).

Step 2 — Add the DNS records

After you add your domain, Carrot will show you a set of DNS records. These need to be added wherever your domain is managed — your domain registrar or DNS host (for example, GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Namecheap).

  1. Copy each record shown in Carrot.

  2. Log in to your domain provider and open its DNS settings.

  3. Add each record exactly as shown — record type, name/host, and value.

  4. Confirm you've added the records. The verification process will continue running in the background until it detects your changes.

Step 3 — Verification and troubleshooting

DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to take effect, but often less than 1 hour. If verification has not succeeded, double-check that each record was copied exactly and that there are no typos or extra spaces.

If you need to get the DNS records again, just click "Verify" beside your domain setting to re-open the popup.
