How does the face scan work?

IMIN reads your nervous system through your phone's camera. No wearable, no finger sensor, nothing to charge or strap on. You hold your phone for 60 seconds, and the scan does two things: it measures your body's signals, then works out what state your nervous system is in.

Measuring your body's signals

As you scan, the camera picks up tiny color changes in your skin that happen with every heartbeat, far too small to see with the eye. This is a technology called remote photoplethysmography (rPPG), and it's how IMIN reads your vital signs without anything touching you: your heart rate, your heart rate variability (HRV), and a fuller set of readings you can open by tapping the GO DEEPER button on your results.

The rPPG technology IMIN uses has been validated to over 97% accuracy for these vital signs, compared to medical-grade devices.

Reading your nervous system state

Your vital signs are the raw data. From there, IMIN's own calculations interpret them to produce the readings you actually act on: your Nervous System State, Nervous System Balance, Decision Capacity, and your Short and Long Term Battery.

How we handle your scan data

  • No video storage: Face scan videos and images are processed in real-time and not saved, stored, or transmitted to our servers

  • Local processing: All biometric processing occurs on your device

  • No facial recognition: IMIN only reads physiological signals, not your identity

  • Your control: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time

For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

Why face scanning?

Unlike wearables that require charging, syncing, and constant wear, face scanning offers:

  • Instant access: Just use your phone when you need it

  • No barriers: Nothing to buy, charge, or remember to wear

  • Real-time results: Get your reading in 60 seconds

  • Universal compatibility: Works with any smartphone camera

Accuracy and limitations

IMIN's scanning technology:

  • Provides wellness insights, not medical diagnoses

  • Becomes more accurate as it learns your patterns

  • Works best with consistent scanning conditions

  • May vary slightly based on lighting and movement

Medical disclaimer: IMIN's measurements are for wellness purposes only and are not a substitute for professional medical advice.
