What are Key Moments?

Key Video Moments are a Google SERP feature that allow Google to show Key Moments or Chapters in your video. Originally a YouTube feature, Google has opened up the feature to all video SERPs. SEEEN's CreatorSuite has full support for Key Moments in its player.

It's a good idea to add them to longer videos to let your viewers jump to the part of the video they are interested in.

When creating moments, try to follow these rules:

  1. They should be at least 15 seconds long. Longer is fine.

  2. Title them succinctly. You only get one line of text, so make it count!

  3. Include at least three moments in your videos.

Manually Creating Moments in CreatorSuite

  1. Open the video

  2. Click on Edit Moments under the video's playhead; this will take you to a new page

  3. Click on the + New Moment link on the left or the [+] box under the playhead. This will add the moment to the pick list on the left side

  4. Enter the times for the start and end and give your moment a title (required) and click Save

  5. (Optional) Click on the edit icon if you want to add a thumbnail, description, and/or end card. You can also add tags and categories for playlists. This will open a window under the video. See below for field descriptions.

  6. Scroll down and make your changes. They are automatically saved as you edit

Creating Moments from the Transcript

CreatorSuite automatically generates a transcript for your videos. You can use this transcript to create moments.

  1. Open the video

  2. Click on Edit Moments under the video's playhead; this will take you to a new page

  3. Click on the black (<) arrow on the top left of the page to open the transcript view

  4. Select the text you want to create a moment from and click on the Create Moment button that appears. This will add the moment to the pick list on the left. Add the title and click Save.
