The Stages in a Pipeline represent how far through a process a client's Opportunity is. Having your clients in the correct Stage for a Pipeline means that your Pipeline becomes a simple and accurate visualisation of your workflow. There are multiple ways that an Opportunity can move to another Stage.
1. Clicking and holding an Opportunity using the mouse
This will allow you to drag the Opportunity between stages.
2. An Action occurring to move the Opportunity
Automations can move an Opportunity between stages - for example, when a client completes their fact find. These automations can be changed in your organisation's Pipeline settings.
3. Choosing a Stage when in the client's Profile
When on a client's Profile, selecting an Opportunity tile opens the application overview sidebar. From here, you can click a Pipeline Stage to move the Opportunity there.
