Canvas: Edit your content

Canvas is the full-page editor for scripts, posts, and copy — with inline AI tools to rewrite, shorten, expand, and humanize any section.

Canvas is Vamos's built-in editor — it opens automatically whenever the AI writes you a script, post, email, or ad. Think Google Docs, but with AI tools you can point at any line.

When Canvas opens automatically

  • Video / audio scripts (TikTok, Reels, YouTube, podcasts)

  • Social media posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook)

  • Email copy (marketing, newsletters, cold outreach)

  • Ad copy, sales copy

  • Creative writing

When Canvas does NOT open

  • Short responses under ~150 characters (shown as inline lists instead)

  • Research, analysis, or explanations

  • Recommendation lists

  • Long-form articles that need markdown formatting

You can also click Open on any previous output in the chat to expand it into Canvas manually.

Full-page editor mode

Click Open at the top of a Canvas output and it expands to full-page — your own editing view, with AI tools docked to the side.

This is where the real work happens. Like a Google Doc with AI built in.

The toolbar

  • Undo / Redo — step through your edit history

  • Save — add to your Saved library

  • Download — export as text file

  • Copy — copy everything to clipboard

Editing in Canvas

Manual edits

Click anywhere in the content and type. Your changes save automatically while you're editing.

Highlight-to-edit (the power move)

Select any section (a line, a paragraph, a specific hook) and ask AI to change just that part.

Common asks:

  • "Make this hook more punchy"

  • "Simplify this for beginners"

  • "Humanize this — remove the AI-ness"

  • "Shorten this section by 30%"

  • "Expand with a concrete example"

  • "Rewrite in a more contrarian tone"

Vamos rewrites only the highlighted section. Accept or reject. Your Brand Voice is loaded automatically, so the rewrite matches your style.

Saving content

  1. Click Save in the Canvas toolbar.

  2. Content lands in your Saved library at app.getvamos.ai/saved.

  3. You can search by keyword, sort by date, and download anytime.

Auto-save is off inside Canvas — always click Save when you're happy with a piece before closing the chat.

The Saved page

  • Search across all your saved content

  • Filter by type (scripts, posts, emails, etc.)

  • Download any item as a text file

  • Copy + paste into your posting tool

Each workspace has its own Saved library. Switching workspaces shows a different library.

Tips

  1. Don't save everything. From a batch of 30 scripts, pick your top 10–15 and save those. The rest is noise.

  2. Edit before you publish. AI gets you 80% there. The 20% of tweaks are what make it sound like you posting it, not AI posting it.

  3. Use highlight-to-edit for surgery. Don't ask the whole script to be rewritten if you only dislike the hook. Highlight the hook, rewrite it, keep the rest.

  4. Save early, save often. Canvas doesn't auto-save. Saving takes one second and prevents lost work if you close the chat.
