This article provides guidance on what steps to take to electronically sign your tax return when using our GetYourRefund File with Help option. Signing is a permanent action. Please review your tax return before signing.
When your return is ready to be signed, you'll see an "Add final signature" button in your GYR account portal. Click the button.
When you click "Add final signature," you will be prompted to read an authorization statement and check off boxes ✅ for each tax return you are filing.
If you are filing for multiple years, each tax year requires a separate signature and will have its own checkbox.
If you authorize and confirm with the prompts, check the boxes ✅ , then click Submit.
After clicking Submit, your signature is added to your tax return.
The tax team will then be able to e-file your return. Your account will be updated within a few days to reflect whether your return was accepted or rejected. You will also receive a confirmation message at your preferred method of contact.
If the return is rejected, the tax team will inform you of next steps.
You'll be presented with a button to download a copy of your tax return(s).
We highly recommend downloading a copy of your return before October.
GetYourRefund closes all client accounts at the end of each tax season. After we close, you will not be able to access your GYR account to download a copy.
