Contact tags organize your contacts like lists, simplifying the process of uploading and sending rewards by email. Simply put, tags make it easy to add contacts to orders.

Here are some key things to keep in mind with tags:

  • Contacts can have multiple tags.

  • Tags are not forced to be unique. If you used a tag previously and use it again, this may throw off your count when sending an order.

  • Tags are only tied to the contacts and order page.

  • If a tag is not entered, it will default to the current date.

Best Practice for Tags

Keep them Unique

Anytime you are doing a contact upload, make use of tags. By default it will be set to todays date but if you are doing multiple uploads in a day, you will end up with all your contacts under the same tag.

Make sure your tag is unique for that upload and does not match any previous tags you may have used. You can check this by creating an order and when selecting recipients, checking all the tags used on the left hand side.

Multiple Denominations for One Campaign

If you have a campaign that requires multiple denominations, here is the best practice:

  1. Decide on the tag and keep this consistent for all denominations

    1. Example could be Marketing_Campaign2024

  2. Split your uploads into different files based on the denominations. So keep all $10, $20 and $50 contacts in separate files to upload.

  3. When doing an upload, use the same tag for each upload but include the denomination.

    1. In our example we would have Marketing_Campaign2024_$10, Marketing_Campaign2024_$20, and Marketing_Campaign2024_$50 as our tags.

    2. If sending to different regions, we would recommend adding an identifier to the tag as well (FRA, GER, USA, CAD etc).

  4. When sending your order, make sure to edit your template to the correct value and when selecting recipients, you select the correct tag for that value.
