Large or long-running projects build up unused usages, flows, blocks, and scenarios as you test design options. Use the Cleanup menu in project settings to clear out what you no longer need, so your project loads quickly and stays easy for your team to navigate.
Unused content is content that is not linked to any geometry in the current project. Unused properties are defined a little more broadly: a property counts as unused if no usage, feature, block, flow, or analytics measure references it.
Open the Cleanup menu
Open Project Settings. The icon looks like a cog in the left panel.
Scroll down. The Cleanup section sits below the settings tabs. It is not inside any tab, including the tab labeled Other.
Purge unused
Click Purge unused to delete everything unused in the project with one click.
This removes:
empty draw layers
unused usages
unused flows
unused blocks
unused scenarios
unused properties
🚨 Warning: purging unused content cannot be undone.
Delete one category at a time
Click More... next to Purge unused to open a menu of individual cleanup options. Each option shows a live count of how many items it will remove.
Delete empty draw layers
Delete unused usages
Delete unused flows
Delete unused blocks
Delete unused scenarios
Delete unused properties
Each option opens a confirmation prompt before it deletes anything.
Clear analytics
Clear analytics deletes every measure, category, tab, and custom unit in the project's Analytics. Use it to rebuild your analytics setup from scratch. It is grayed out if the project has no analytics data yet.
🚨 Warning: clearing analytics cannot be undone.
Reset all usage data
Reset all usage data replaces every usage in the project with Giraffe's own default usage catalog, the same set a brand new project starts with. This is not your organization's defaults. It resets usages to Giraffe's out-of-the-box set.
🚨 Warning: resetting usage data cannot be undone.
The Content Library panel has its own, smaller Cleanup menu. Click the ••• button in the Project Content panel to purge unused flows, blocks, or usages, or reset usages to factory defaults, without leaving that panel.
