Import Content from Projects

How to browse and import content from your past projects using the Content Library's Project tab in Giraffe v6.

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Reuse a building, layer set, or assumptions from a past deal to test them on a new site. The Content Library can bring content from your other projects into the one you have open.

Available on Team and Enterprise plans.

Import a whole project

  1. Open the Content Library and click the Workspace tab.

  2. Choose Projects from the Content Type list.

  3. Search by name or scroll to find the project, then click it to open its details.

  4. Click Import.

Import only some content

A project's detail view lists everything in it by type, such as layers, features, usages, and flows. You can add single items from those lists in place of the whole project.

A colored marker next to each item shows how it compares with your project.

  • New

  • Existing

  • Conflicting

New items don't exist in your project yet. Existing items are already there and are skipped. Conflicting items match something in your project and need to be resolved. Each content type's heading shows a count of each kind.

To add a single content item:

  1. Open the project's details on the Workspace tab, as in the steps above.

  2. Click a content type to expand it.

  3. Hover over an item and click + to add it to your project.

Usages, flows, and blocks have two more actions:

  • Draw new

  • Eyedrop to selected

Draw new adds the item and starts drawing a geometry with it. Eyedrop to selected adds the item and applies it to the geometries you have selected on the map. Blocks only work with points.

Pick features to import

  1. Expand Features and click Pick features.

  2. Select the features you want. You can check them in the table or click them on the map. Or To add every feature at once, click + next to Pick features.

  3. Click Add [number] features to project.

Add other content types

A few content types behave differently:

  • Analytics

  • Reports

  • Layouts

  • Layers and apps

Analytics and reports each appear as a single item, so + adds all of them together. Layers and apps already in your project are skipped.
