Apps in Spaces

Add and manage apps in a Space using the Content Library and panel layouts

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Apps in Spaces work similarly to apps in projects. The main difference: Spaces don't support drawing, so any app that creates or processes geometry won't function in a Space.

Add an app from a panel tab

Click the + on any panel's tab strip, then search for the app you want.

Add an app from the Content Library

  1. Open the Content Library, like you would any other app.

  2. Go to Marketplace, and click Apps.

  3. Click Get on an app to install and open it, or Open if you already have it.

The app opens as a new tab in your current panel layout.

Manage your layout

A Space starts from a preset layout, like Discover or Browse, but you can add any app to it regardless of the preset.

Use the layout selector in the top bar to switch between your saved layouts. Click + to create a new one from your current setup, a preset, or a shared template. Right-click a layout tab for more options: rename, duplicate, revert to preset, or delete.

If an app was built with the Giraffe SDK, you may see a data-privacy pop-up. Make sure you trust the app before it processes your data.
