Organize Scenes

Reorder scenes by dragging, group them into folders, or sort the whole list at once.

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

A scene saves a camera angle and layer state you captured earlier, and you can check exactly what a scene stores. Drag scenes in the Scenes panel to reorder them or group them into folders, or use the panel's sort options to reorder the whole list at once.

Reorder scenes

Drag a scene and drop it above or below another scene to move it to that position. A folder can be dragged the same way, moving every scene inside it along with it.

Group scenes into folders

Drag one scene directly onto another to group them into a folder. Drag a scene onto an existing folder to add it to that folder.

Drag a scene out of a folder and drop it in the main list to remove it from that folder. You can also right-click a scene inside a folder and choose Move out of folder.

There is no button to create an empty folder or to delete one directly. A folder appears once you group two scenes, and disappears once it is empty again.

Sort the whole list

Open the ••• menu in the Scenes panel header to reorder every scene at once, instead of dragging them one at a time. Choose Sort by name to list scenes alphabetically, or Sort by date to list the most recently captured scene first. Choose Reverse order to flip the current sort.
