The basemap controls the look and feel of your project, and also contains information. Giraffe uses Mapbox as the architecture for our mapping.
Mapbox styles contain graphics and information. Some styles have very little information, like roads and buildings only. Others have more, like points of interest.
Giraffe comes with 6 default map styles, and you can also add your own Mapbox style.
To Change the Map style
From Map Toolbar
Find the map toolbar in the bottom right of the map canvas.
Click the Map settings icon - it looks like a folded map with a cog.
Click "change basemap style."
From Project Settings
In Project Settings, click “system” then “edit map style”
The Map Style Selector
When the selector appears, click on a map style to apply it to your project.
Note: You need to refresh your tab for changes to take effect
If you need further customization beyond the 6 Giraffe default map styles, you can add any published Mapbox style to your project. Learn how
