Note: Chariot requires an Officer’s information to complete account verification. If you are not an Officer, you may register on behalf of one by entering their requested information. Before you begin, make sure to have the following information for an Officer on hand: Full Legal Name, Date of Birth, Residential Address, Legal Status in the U.S. and Social Security Number.

Join thousands of nonprofits already on Chariot to raise more from Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and save time with gift processing. To get on Chariot, the first step is to sign up. Please note that Chariot requires an Officer’s information to complete account verification.

Sign up for Chariot

If you are brand new to Chariot, you can start by clicking “Get Started” anywhere you see the option (e.g., at the top of our givechariot.com homepage).

The steps below apply whether you heard about Chariot through your fundraising platform, got an email about DAFpay gifts made on a crowdfunding site (i.e., GoFundMe), or you just came to Chariot on your own.

To register, you will be prompted to enter your work email address and a secure password, complete Two-Factor Authentication, and select your organization.

After you’ve created and verified your login credentials and found your organization, you will see a callout for “Additional verification required”.

  • Please note that Chariot requires an Officer’s information to complete account verification.

  • If you are not an Officer, you may register on behalf of one by entering their requested information.

Officer Verification

If you are either an Officer or registering on behalf of one, you’ll take the following steps:

First, you’ll need to provide information on the organization that you’re affiliated with. You will have to do so by typing in your organization’s full 9-digit Employer Identification Number (EIN).

After typing in your organization’s EIN, you will then be able to review and edit your organization’s Legal Name, Preferred Name (optional), and IRS-registered Address.

You will then be prompted to verify an Officer’s information to continue with setup. Select which Officer you are verifying from the listed options. Any officers named in your 990 filing will automatically appear on the list.

If you do not see the Officer’s name you wish to verify, you can invite an Officer to verify themselves.

Enter basic identification details exactly as they appear on the Officer’s government-issued ID (Full Name and Date of Birth).

On the next screen you will be prompted to enter the Officer’s Residential Address (note: P.O. boxes will not be accepted), Legal Status in the U.S., and Social Security Number.

  • All personal details are securely maintained by our identity management partner, which employs state-of-the-art data security measures, like Secure Data Enclaves.

Then, you will confirm all details are accurate one more time before finalizing.

On the next screen, you will be prompted to answer a series of questions about your expected Chariot Deposit Account usage. Please fill this in to the best of your ability.

On the last screen, you will be asked to review your information one final time.

Finally, you will be taken back to your dashboard. If anything submitted requires further review, you will see a notification at the top of the screen that your Chariot Deposit Account is under review.
