If your organization has received a DAFpay gift or Disbursement from Chariot and you don't yet have an account with us, you will receive an email prompting you to "claim your account."
It's important to note that your funds may take some time to arrive to you, depending on which action you take upon receipt of the "claim your account" email.
When will my funds arrive if I do claim my Chariot Deposit Account*?
Once you've gone through Chariot's compliance verification, you may be eligible to open a Chariot Deposit Account (CDA). If your organization is approved for a CDA, your funds will arrive within 14 days of account creation, depending on the DAF provider that initiated the gift.
Once you have a CDA, you will be able to begin receiving Connected Payments - electronic payments that settle instantly once approved - sent by enrolled DAF Providers for free. This includes DAFpay gifts sent by enrolled DAF Providers. There is no cost for nonprofits to receive Disbursements on Chariot or transfer funds to an external financial account up to twice per month.
When will my funds arrive if I do not claim my Chariot Deposit Account?
For unclaimed gifts coming from DAF Providers enrolled on Chariot: Depending on the DAF Provider, a check will be issued to the address your nonprofit has on file with the IRS within 14 days of grant initiation. Please note that check handling fees may apply.
For unclaimed DAFpay gifts: The DAFpay Network, Inc. (501(c)3) will issue and mail a check for any unclaimed funds to the address your nonprofit has on file with the IRS within 60 days of the grant initiation. Please note that a surcharge of $25 or 10% of the check amount (whichever is lower) will be applied for each check sent to nonprofits from the DAFpay Network, Inc.
