What Are Merge Tags and How Are They Used?

Merge tags in GiveCloud are dynamic placeholders enclosed in code brackets. These tags automatically replace predefined content in email and letter templates.

They can be selected easily from the dropdown menu of the tribute type's template editor:

[[shop_organization]] - your organization name

[[shop_url]] - your organization website

[[organization_logo]] - your organization logo

[[donor_first_name]] - donor's first name

[[donor_last_name]] - donor's last name

[[tribute_type]] - type of tribute

[[name]] - name of the dedicatee (name on tribute)

[[amount]] - amount of donation

[[message]] - the optional message provided by the supporter

[[headline]] - the headline provided by the supporter

[[artwork]] - the artwork which includes the headline in black lettering positioned in the center of the image (if Text Overlays Artwork is enabled)

[[notify_name]] - name of the recipient of the tribute

[[notify_at]] - the type of delivery for the tribute

[[notify_email]] - email address of the recipient of the tribute

[[notify_address]] - street address of the recipient of the tribute

[[notify_city]] - City of recipient of the tribute

[[notify_state]] - State/province of the recipient of the tribute

[[notify_zip]] - zip/postal code of the recipient of the tribute

[[notify_country]] - Country of the recipient of the tribute
