This is Step 3 of a series: How to Create a Giving Experience π
Customize Experience allows you to further edit the look and feel of your GE's donation screen. Plus, enable features such as upsell, email opt-in, and employer matching (available with 360MatchPro by Double the Donation).
Donation
Here, you can enable key features that motivate and inspire your supporters to give. Edit your social proof, default amounts, impact promise and more.
Social Proof
Motivate your supporters to complete their transaction by seeing how others give.
During the donation experience, a bubble will appear sharing information about recent donors.
Choose one of two options:
Initials & Geography
Example: JB (Ottawa, ON) gave $150
Geography Only
Example: Someone (Ottawa, ON) gave $250
Countdown
Add a countdown to communicate a sense of urgency when fundraising. Set a deadline to display on your GE.
Tip: Pair a countdown with a fundraising goal (example: Letβs raise $10,000 by August 31st)
Goal Thermometer
Set a goal for your nonprofit to leverage and inspire supporters to give. As your supporters give, the thermometer goes up!
Set your goal and preview within the visual editor
Adding an amount to Initial Progress will increase the total displayed on the thermometer.
Share your goal progress bar on your Giving Experience with your supporters
Enable DCC and include this in your goal progress
Please note that Givecloud Express users will not be able to see this option.

Recurring Options
Frequencies: Set the frequencies supporters can choose from (this may depend on your campaign's goals).
Common options: Monthly, Today Only
Other options: Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Quarterly, Semi-Yearly, Yearly
Default Frequency: Choose the frequency that supporters will land on by default.
Suggested Amount
Choose how your suggested donation amount will be determined and shared with your supporters.
Automatic (Recommended)
Uses Givecloud's technology to determine the best default amount to present to the supporter based on their device, geo-location, and more.
Customize
Allows you to set the default amount, with a minimum requirement of $5.
Impact Promise
Communicate a clear and transparent commitment to your supporters that builds trust. It can vary across different Giving Experiences based on the goal of the campaign.
Impact Promise examples:
80% of donations go directly to our mission.
Supporting our lean expert staff and admin operations.
We recommend keeping your message concise and within the 120-character limit.
Dedications & Tributes
Allow your supporters to dedicate their donation to a loved one and send a personalized notification.
Learn how to configure GE Dedications & Tributes π
Anonymous Donations
Allow your supporters to remain anonymous in the payment screen during donation. This prevents their names from being listed on any honor rolls or social proof.

Reminders
Reminders encourage your supporters to complete their donations. Giving Experiences include a default Exit Confirmation and an optional Sticky Reminder.
Exit Confirmation
Encourage supporters to complete their donation before exiting the Giving Experience.
The Exit Confirmation message displays when a supporter clicks the X button in the top right corner of your Giving Experience.
You can edit this message (there's a 60-character limit).
The Exit Confirmation works for all GE sharing options, including inline-embedded options on an external site.
Sticky Reminder
The Sticky Reminder is an optional feature, toggled on by default, that encourages supporters to complete their donation even after closing the Giving Experience.
Customization options:
Encouragement: Edit the message displayed on the reminder (50-character limit)
Position: Choose Left, Center, or Right
Image: Add an optional image
The Sticky Reminder displays on your Givecloud website and any external site where the Giving Experience is embedded (via a button, for example).
Note: This feature requires your website to be connected via bridge code. For setup instructions, check out Givecloud Donations on Your Website π
Upsell
Upsell is an optional setting that converts one-time donors to monthly donors by graciously asking them to upgrade their donation after they give. Upsell is toggled on by default. The amount options cannot be adjusted manually, but significantly larger donations will impact the amounts shown to the donor.
Customize the Upsell Message to encourage your supporters to upgrade their gift (150-character limit).
Enable Hide Upsell for Large One-Time Donations to hide the recurring upsell screen when the donation amount exceeds the specified threshold.
Employer Matching
Employer Matching is an optional setting available to nonprofits using 360MatchPro by Double the Donation. To toggle on Employer Matching, you'll need to integrate 360MatchPro by Double the Donation to your Givecloud Admin to identify employer matching programs following any donation. Once integrated, supporters can double their donation by searching for their employer from the 360MatchPro Database.
Email Opt-In
Email Opt-in allows you to gently encourage donors to opt in for updates on the fantastic work you're doing in your community.
Upsell Only
Keep checkout quick by asking for marketing opt-in as an upsell only.
Checkout + Upsell
Prompt donors to opt into marketing during checkout, and if they decline or use an express payment method, present the opt-in option again as an upsell.
Donors using an express form of payment (like Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, etc) will only see Email Opt-In as an upsell.
Customize the Opt-In Message to inspire supporters to join (100-character limit).
If donors opt-in for email marketing, this information can be captured in DonorPerfect CRM. To do this, "Include Email Opt-In" must be turned on in the Givecloud DP Integration settings and this information syncs to the Main Screen:
If the donor opts-in, the "No Email" checkbox will be unchecked.
If the donor opts-out, the "No Email" checkbox will be checked.
Referral Source
Keep track of how your supporters have heard about your nonprofit. This screen appears after the Upsell screen.
To add a referral source, simply type in the text field and hit Enter.
Add up to a maximum of 7 referral sources.
Some sources are included by default, but you can delete them if desired.
Optionally allow your supporters to include their own referral source, by enabling 'Other'.
Thank You
Let your supporters know how much you appreciate their support.
You have the option to use Givecloud's optimized Thank You slide detailed below by selecting Automatic, or you can redirect supporters to your own custom Thank You page.
Redirect
Redirect URL - provide the URL for your custom Thank You page.
Include donation data in the redirect (API required) - Check this box if you want the redirect to also send donation details to your site to allow you to further customize your Thank You page.
Requires an API endpoint that accepts a POST request and responds with an HTML page.
The following information about the donation is sent:
firstName
lastName
frequency
amount
currency
Video Message
Thank supporters by playing a thoughtful YouTube or Vimeo video on the thank you screen.
Youtube shorts are not supported. Also be aware that while the video will auto-play, the audio may be muted. This is often controlled by the user's browser or computer settings and cannot be overridden at this time.
Message
Display a thoughtful message when the donation is complete (100-character limit).
Call to Action
Direct your supporters to the next step in their journey. Create a button with customized text and URL.
Supporters can spread the word about your Giving Experience directly to their community from the Thank You page. Sharing options include Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, text message, and email.
