You need your Merchant ID and the Transaction Security Key to allow Kimbia to connect with Cybersource to process transactions.

MERCHANT ID (MID)

The CyberSource merchant ID (MID) is important as it identifies your account to CyberSource for transaction processing and customer ser- vice. It is recommended, though not required, that you choose a name that intuitively relates to your organization. For example, a com- pany named “Widgets, Inc.” might choose a MID of “widgets”. Once an ID is registered, it cannot be modified. It can only be deactivated and a new ID registered for use in its place. See the following topics for more information about the CyberSource Merchant ID:

l How do I find my Merchant ID?

To find your Merchant ID:

  1. Log into the CyberSource Business Center.

  2. Your Merchant ID is in the top right corner next to the Log Out button.

Create a new CyberSource Merchant ID

See the Cybersouce documentation for instructions on creating a new Merchant ID (MID).

Please be aware that once you have created a MID, you cannot change it. However, you can have multiple MIDs.

For example, if you are, "Non-Profit Central" and you require multiple IDs for processing in various regions and/or currencies, you could use “NPC_usd”, “NPC_eur”, “NPC_jpy”, etc. A consistent naming scheme can be helpful for reporting and notification purposes. MIDs fol- lowing a consistent naming scheme will often be grouped next to each other in alphabetized/sorted lists, such as merchant generated reports, and reports used by CyberSource Support to identify merchants impacted by system outages and service updates.

MID NAMING EXAMPLES:

l A company “Non-Profit Central, Inc.” with only one ID, might select “npc”.

l That same merchant when requiring multiple IDs, might select “npc_usd”, “npc_eur”, “npc_jpy”, etc.

l When requiring an ID for each of 200 locations they might select “npc_topeka”, “npc_sandiego”, “npc_dallas”, etc.

MID NAMING GUIDELINES:

MIDs should not contain:

l An individual’s name

l 'CYBS' or any variation on CyberSource

l A developer’s company name

l The terms 'test' or 'eval' (or similar)

l The words 'admin' or 'fraud'.

TRANSACTION SECURITY KEY

Security keys ensure that transactions originate from your Web site and that no one, not even CyberSource, can run transactions on your behalf by using your keys. Kimbia uses the SOAP Toolkit API to authenticate transactions using a base-64-encoded key represented in string format.

Security keys are highly confidential. When you initially get your security key, it is important to save it to a secure location. If you cannot locate your security key, you will need to create a new one in the CyberSource Business Center. Choose the SOAP Toolkit API option.
