Cover the Fee

Adding a "Cover the Fee"/Optional Calculated Fee Choice for Donors on your Donation Forms

In order to add the option for your donors to Cover the Fees on your donation forms, please follow the below steps:

1. The Cover the Fees Question works best as a Yes/No Question, so go to Library --> Global Questions to create a new Global Yes/No Question.

2. Click the "+ADD NEW" button and select Yes/No as the Question Type.

3. Fill in the Name as "Fees" or "Cover the Fees"


4. The Label will be your actual question, so it can be, "Would You Like to Cover the Fees?" or however you would like to ask the question.

5. Leave everything else as is. You do not need to add the fees next to the Yes or No answer.ย 

6. Click Save.

7. In the Campaign, select the Form from your Form List that you would like to add this question to.

8. Once you selected the Form, you will see the options available to you for that form like Overview, Quick Config, Form Details, etc.

9. Click on "Form Questions"

10. Once you click on that your screen should display 3 areas: Your Information Section, Additional Questions Section, and Payment Details Section. You will be adding the question to the "Your Information Section."

11. Click the "ADD GLOBAL" button for the section that you would want to add the question to:

12. Then select your "Cover the fees" Global Question to add it to the form:

13. Next, Click on "Donation Levels" at the top where you selected "Form Questions."

14. Scroll down to "Calculated Fee," which will be at the very bottom on the page.ย 

15. Click on "Edit" on the far right side.

16. Put in whatever fee percentage you are wanting to charge to donors who are covering the fees in the area labeled "Percentage."

You also have the option to apply this fee to Ongoing/Recurring payments, by selecting "Yes" next to "Apply Fee to Ongoing Payments?"

17. Next, the last section on this menu should say "Percentage Applied." Select "optionally based on question answer."

NOTE: Adding a fixed amount fee will make the fee required instead of optional.

18. From there it will give you a list of questions that you have created to choose from. Select the question that you listed as your "Cover the Fee" question.

19. Click Save!
