To see the Decline Code associated with the result message, you will first need to go to the Donation Details page for that donor. Then scroll down to "Associated Transactions" and click on the transaction code:
That will bring you to the Transactions Details page. At the bottom of the Transaction Details section, there is a dropdown you can click for Gateway Information:
When you click on it, the details provided by the gateway are displayed. The decline code is listed next to "ReasonCode." Using Cybersources's documentation, Reason Code 203 means: General decline of the card. No other information provided by the issuing bank. Request a different card or other form of payment:
In this instance, the donor will need to reach out to their card issuing bank to figure out why they declined the card or utilize a different form of payment.
If the result message is not clear, or you want additional information about the decline, you can follow the above steps to see the Reason/Decline Code and match it to Cybersource's response code document.
