What is a Quick-Start Project:
A Quick-Start Project is a short, time-boxed volunteer opportunity designed to help ministries make meaningful progress without adding a long-term role.
These projects are a one-time commitment of 2–6 hours of work, and the volunteer and ministry agree up front on how that time will be used. The focus is progress, not perfection.
It’s practical, hands-on help without the pressure of an ongoing responsibility!
When to Choose a Quick-Start Project
This may be a great fit if:
Your Virtual Role hasn’t been filled yet
You need forward progress, not just a conversation
You’d like to build trust before exploring long-term support
For example, You could ask for a Quick-Start project to assess your current website and create a game plan for refreshing your brand and content. Or you might ask for help organizing the plan for a campaign or technical project. The focus is progress, not perfection!
Can I still request ongoing help with a Virtual Role?
Yes! Virtual Roles are still available and remain a meaningful way to receive ongoing support. However, while 95% of one-hour Consultations are successfully matched, only about 25% of Virtual Roles are currently filled.
We’ve learned that open-ended commitments can feel intimidating for volunteers, especially if they have limited time. So, Quick-Start Projects offer these volunteers an opportunity to engage with your ministry in a way that fits their schedules.
How the Options Compare:
One Hour Consultation | Quick-Start Project | Virtual Role |
1-hour conversation | 2–6 hours of hands-on help | Ongoing support |
Strategy & advice | Time prioritized together | Open-ended commitment |
~95% match rate | Designed for a stronger match likelihood | ~25% currently filled |
