Now you can message others on Switchboard. This feature is in beta and we want to let you know how it works and what it impacts

Welcome to the Beta Release of Switchboard Messenger!

We're excited to announce the beta release of Switchboard Messenger, a feature designed to streamline your communications and improve your connection experience. Here's everything you need to know about this new feature:

Switchboard Messenger allows you to manage your communications more effectively by providing a focused inbox and messenger within the Switchboard platform. No more bouncing between emails and struggling to keep track of messages – all your conversations will be in one place.

How It Works

  1. Email Notifications: When you get connected and each time you receive a message while you are offline, you'll get an email notification.

  2. Single Click Access:

    1. When you receive a Switchboard connection email, click the provided button to open a dedicated inbox and messenger on Switchboard and read/respond to that message.

    2. You can also navigate to your inbox on Switchboard through the inbox icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Integrated Communication: Engage with your collaborator directly within Switchboard, keeping all communications in the context of your workflow.

    3. Send voice messages

What It Impacts

New Consultations: All new consultation connections initiated after the beta release will use Switchboard Messenger for communication.

What Is Not Impacted

  • Current and Previous Connections: Existing connections and those already in-flight as of 07/09/2024 will continue to operate under the old email communication workflow.

  • Virtual Role Connections: We will roll out this new messenger to include virtual roles shortly. For now, only one-hour consultations are impacted.

Q: How do I access Switchboard Messenger?

A: Simply click the button in your Switchboard connection email to open the chat OR click on the inbox icon at the corner of your screen

Q: Will my current connections be affected by Switchboard Messenger?

A: No, current and previous connections will still use the old email workflow.

Q: Why aren't my conversations loading?

A: Refresh the page to resolve any loading issues.
