If a transaction is in a failed state with this reason, it means that there was authentication failure. Authentication failure results when:

  • the wrong card details are entered
  • the OTP (One Time Password) cannot be verified or 3D secure password was not entered correctly. 

In such cases, the customer receive messages from the bank stating that the payment could not be processed. Usually, money is not debited and you can try another transaction after a few minutes.
