Creating visual work instructions

How to add a video or a screen clipping to a work instruction using Gluu, YouTube and Castify.

With Gluu it's very fast to add images and videos to your work instructions. Just select the right tool in the toolbar in the built-in work instruction editor:

Adding a screen snippet

1. Open your preferred screen snipping tool such as the one in Windows:

2. Do your screen capture (and draw to highlight anything.)
3. Go to your work instruction, place the cursor where you want to add the image and click CRTL+V to insert it directly.
4. You're done!

Adding a video

Before you start you need:

  1. A Gluu account with a process that has an activity (for the work instruction).

  2. A screen recording plugin for your browser or a downloaded screen recording software.

  3. Access to video-sharing accounts such as YouTube or Vimeo.
    (For highly confidential videos you should use enterprise tools such as Ilosvideos, or Vzaar.)

Once you have these tools in place then follow this video instruction to make and add a video in less than five minutes:
