Key Objectives in Elate

Everything you need to know about Key Objectives in Elate.

Updated over a week ago

Every organization should have what Elate calls “Key Objectives”, or the Objectives that are the most imperative to your Strategic Plan’s success. Key Objectives are typically the Objectives that an Executive Team cares about most in reporting and have the greatest impact across the entire organization.

This article will outline how to create Key Objectives in Elate & where they live throughout the app.

Creating a Key Objective

Creating a Key Objective is very straightforward. First, create an objective or select from any of your existing objectives. Simply choose the star in the top-right corner of your Objective Detail Modal. This successfully marks this Objective as “Key Objective” in Elate. To remove a Key Objective, simply un-select the star.

Please note that only Org Admins have permission to mark an Objective as a Key Objective. Org Members will be able to see the Key Objective star, but will not have access to make changes.

Elate believes that not everything can be the highest priority within a strategic plan. As such, an Organization can only have up to 10 Key Objectives in an active time period. If you have reached your limit for a given time period, you will first need to remove a Key Objective before adding another.

Key Objectives Throughout Elate

Key Objectives will appear on the Company Page, nested underneath their applicable Theme.

Key Objectives also have their own filter in the Objective Library. Use this filter to easily view your Key Objectives at once.

Bonus Tip: Customize your filters & columns to get a curated view of your Key Objectives. By choosing "Save View", you can easily add this view into an Advanced Report going forward.
