Congratulations! You are now one step closer to safeguarding your strategic plan’s success by proactively identifying risks and taking action with Strategy Advisor Beta! Below is everything you need to know as an official Beta customer of Strategy Advisor.
Strategy Advisor Beta lives in three primary places throughout the app: on the Risks Navigator. Outcome and Objective Advisor Tabs, and on Reporting Assistant.
Risk Navigator
Interested in seeing how your Key Objectives + Operating Outcomes are performing? Eager to proactively identify what could be at risk? Introducing: Risks Navigator.
The Risks Navigator shows your organization’s Key Objectives & Operating Outcomes, sorted by what Strategy Advisor has identified from high to low risk.
Each item on the Risks Navigator contains three components: an item’s Summary, Comment Sentiment, & Risk Score.
Risk Score
An Operating Outcome or Key Objective will have either a High, Medium, or Low Risk Score. Risk Score is exactly what it sounds like- the level of risk the Operating Outcome or Key Objective has of failing.
Strategy Advisor calculates Risk Score by looking at a variety of factors. For Operating Outcomes, factors such as outcome pace, comment sentiment, the status of linked objectives, and the trends of linked objectives all contribute to risk score. For Key Objectives, an objective’s status, the pacing of linked outcomes, and overall sentiment all factor into risk score.
The Risks Navigator will sort Key Objectives and Operating Outcomes from highest risk, to lowest risk, so that the matters requiring your most urgent attention are surfaced first.
Summary
Summaries on the Risk Navigator are automatically generated any time a factor that contributes to an item’s risk score changes. You are able to refresh a summary as well. If you do not see a summary automatically, this is likely because Strategy Advisor has not identified changes to connected objects to generate one yet. In that case, simply trigger a manual summary. Use “Copy” to copy the text of your summary and use as you see fit.
It is strongly encouraged that you give Strategy Advisor feedback on the summaries it provides by utilizing the “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” buttons. Giving Advisor intel helps the model learn your organization better, resulting in better summaries.
Comment Sentiment
The Comment Sentiment on a Key Objective or Operating Outcome is defined as Neutral, Positive, or Negative.
In the case of Key Objectives, Strategy Advisor analyzes the comments on the Key Objective itself plus the cumulative sentiment on all its related, parent, and child objectives. In the case of Operating Outcomes, Strategy Advisor analyzes the sentiment of the comments on the Outcome itself, plus the comments on all linked objectives.
Comment Sentiment helps you understand at a high-level what subjectively could be happening behind the curtain. For example, a Key Objective could have a Medium or Low Risk Score. But if the Comment Sentiment is trending negative, it should signal a caution to dig a little deeper and take action before things turn for the worse.
Advisor Tabs
Outcomes & Objectives will also have an “Advisor” tab on the Objective or Outcome detail modal. In attempt to protect your team's private data, the Advisor tab is restricted to only Org Admins.
The Advisor Tab has three primary sections: the Risk Summary, the Comment Sentiment, and “Ask Advisor” in the upper right-hand corner. To learn more about Risk Summary, please refer to the sections above that highlight the Risk Summary and Comment Sentiment on the Risk Navigator, as this will function largely the same.
Ask Advisor
Strategy Advisor is prepared to answer any questions you may have about your Key Objectives and Operating Outcomes. Selecting “Ask Advisor” will pop open a chat bot on the right side of your screen with two optional templates: Summarize and Recommendations. Or, you can simply ask a question to start your own conversation with Strategy Advisor. All conversations are saved in the object itself. This means that if you navigate to another Objective or Outcome, you will start a new chat. And if you return to a previously opened Objective or Outcome, your chat history will persist.
As is the case with all Risk Summaries, it is important to give Strategy Advisor feedback by using the “thumbs up” and “thumbs down” buttons on its responses. This will continue to help Strategy Advisor learn what’s most important to you in your Organization.
Comment Sentiment
Comment Sentiment remains an important part of the Advisor tab on Outcomes & Objectives. To learn more about how Comment Sentiment is calculated, please refer to the Comment Sentiment section under “Risk Navigator”.
The Comment Sentiment on Advisor Tabs will show all comments for the Objective or Outcome itself plus all related, parent, and child objectives or linked objectives, respectively.
Utilize the Sentiment filter in the upper right to filter by what sentiment you'd like to focus on. Use the arrows to view each comment, by sentiment, individually to dig a little deeper.
Reporting Assistant
Lastly, Strategy Advisor is fully prepared to assist you in Advanced Reporting. Selecting “Ask Advisor” on a report will pop open the Ask Advisor chat bot. As in the case of the Advisor tab on Objectives & Outcomes, feel free to ask Advisor any questions about your report. Whether it’s asking for a report summary, clarification on how to use reporting or schedule your report, or any other needs, Strategy Advisor is ready to assist.
Be sure to continually give Strategy Advisor feedback by giving a thumbs up or thumbs down to the generated responses.
