Why It Matters:

You can close objectives and rate their success in Elate. Closing objectives will allow you and your team to review performance around each objective more easily.

This provides an easy way for the whole team to see past performance and to learn what you can do to improve moving forward. Additionally, closing objectives allows you and your team to transition between objective cycles more easily.

How It Works:

Navigate to your objective. Next, click the three dot menu and “Close Objective.”

When closing your objective, you have the opportunity to communicate to the rest of your team how the objective went. The three questions you need to answer to close your objective are:

  • Would you consider this objective a success?

  • On a scale of 1 to 5, how well did your objective go?

  • Anything else you want to document about this objective’s success?

After you close out your objective, Elate users will now be able to see answers to the questions on the objective, allowing you to track history on important objectives for the company.

If you close an objective by accident or simply want to re-open an objective after closing it, all you need to do is click on the three-dot menu of the objective again and select "Re-open Objective" from the drop down list.

All information about the objective will stay the same. However, if you close out the objective again, you'll need to re-answer the close out questions including the commentary.
