Embedding a Looker Dashboard

You can embed a Looker Dashboard on both your company and your team pages.

To embed a Looker Dashboard on your Team Page, navigate to a team scorecard without any connected outcomes and select "Add Scorecard".

Next, select "Embed Dashboard".

To embed a Looker Dashboard on your Company Page, navigate to your Company Page's "Scorecards" tab and click "Embed Dashboard".

From the pop up that appears, fill out the following fields:

  • Embed Source

    • Be sure to select Looker!

  • Embed URL

    • Add the Looker URL of the dashboard you want to display in Elate

  • Show Login

    • This field gives you the option on whether or not you'd like to display a login screen to Looker from Elate:

      • Selecting "Yes" will display a login page for users to log into Looker from Elate

      • Selecting "No" won't require users to log into Looker from Elate

    • This field is necessary because to see a Looker dashboard in Elate, you need to be logged into Looker. Users will automatically see the scorecard in Elate if they are already logged into Looker.

When you have filled out all fields, click “Submit.”

The Looker Scorecard will now be embedded as a scorecard in Elate.

Embedding A Looker Metric as an Outcome in Elate

Great news! You can also embed a Look from Looker on your scorecards and outcomes in Elate.

To embed a Look on a scorecard or objective, create a new outcome anywhere in Elate. As a reminder, you can easily add an outcome by clicking on any objective and selecting "+Add Outcome" in the upper right-hand corner of the Objective Detail modal.

You can choose any graph visualization type as this graph type will be replaced after you connect Looker.

Now that you've created your Outcome, select the three-dot menu of that outcome and choose "Embed Chart."

When the modal appears, select Looker from the Embed Source option and then copy/paste the URL of the Look* into the Embed URL section.

Once you've copied the URL in, be sure to add "/embed" before "/looks" in the URL.

Lastly, click "Submit" on the modal.

*Note: to get the URL of the look, click on the three dot menu of your visualization in Looker and choose "View Look"

The Look will now be embedded as an Outcome in Elate!
