New Year, New Look!

The new year is well underway, and by now, your company has likely wrapped up its executive offsite and is diving into setting goals for the year ahead.

Now that you're in full swing, how can you ensure that your plan will be followed? How can you track progress towards the most important outcomes? And most importantly, how can you ensure that every member of your team knows their responsibilities and how to provide updates?

We're thrilled to introduce new features designed to help your team drive outcomes and collaborate more effectively. These tools will empower your company to identify potential challenges before they escalate into costly setbacks.

Objective Detail Change

The objective detail page in Elate will now allow your team to create and visualize differentiated key results in one view, driving the team closer to measuring with outcomes that matter most.


Outcomes

Measuring an objective with an outcome will allow your team to monitor the business metrics you are trying to change or improve. Example Outcomes include:

  1. Pipeline of $12M

  2. New Business of $5M

  3. ARR of $30M

When measuring an Outcome, there are 3 available graph types to leverage: Bar Graph, Area Graph, and Line Graph).

To add a new outcome, click on the “+ Add Outcome” button in the right corner.


Tactics

Within Objectives, there is often tactical work that must be accomplished to move closer to your outcome. Examples of Tactics include:

  1. Complete a slide deck for a webinar

  2. Implement expense-tracking software

  3. Complete Phase 1 of the Workflow feature

Tactics within Elate are measured on a progress bar, which can be measured numerically. These are measured on a 0-100% complete.

To add a new Tactic, please click on the “+ Add Tactic” button in the lower Tactic section of the page.


Tactics Pro + Actions

If your package includes “Tactics Pro” you will now see the “Actions” tab on the top of the page.

This “Actions” tab, formerly the “Tactics” tab, allows you to see all upcoming next steps, blockers, and due dates for each tactic in one view.


Outcomes Library & Outcomes Detail

In addition to the updated Objective Detail Page, your team will now have access to see how your outcomes are affected by the execution of your entire plan through Elate’s Outcomes Library which can be found on the Plan Execution table.

To navigate to the Outcomes Library, please head to the Plan Execution tab to find the “Outcomes” tab on the top section of the page.

The Outcome Library will house all outcomes throughout the account that are available to a given user, providing the ability to:

  • Monitor performance in one view

  • Analyze the relationship and impact across objectives

  • Add owners on individual outcomes

To add an owner(s) to an individual outcome, click on the respective outcome from the Outcome Library and add the appropriate owners from the right-hand panel.

In the example above, any user with a Team Role of Team Owner or Team Member on the Sales team will be able to edit the outcome, along with Leslie Knope.

In addition, outcomes within your account will now have an “Analyze” button. This button will take you to the Outcome Overview screen to see more detailed information.


FAQs:

Why Did You Make This Change?

  • As your team is planning, executing, and reviewing your plan across the year, it is important to distinguish between the work to be done and the outcomes we expect to achieve. This update allows us to view and analyze those in a more streamlined manner, help your team drive outcomes, and collaborate more effectively.

Where Can I Make a Progress Bar or Number Chart?

  • Progress bars and number charts will now be referred to as “Tactics” within the product and visually represent the numerical goal or 0-100% progress tracking.

To add a new Tactic, please click on the “+ Add Tactic” button in the lower Tactic section of the page.

What Happens to Existing Progress Bars or Number Charts?

  • All existing progress bars and number charts within Elate will remain through the remainder of the objective duration.

What Happened to the Status Updates for Tactics?

  • Tactics will no longer have status updates, allowing your team to focus on the progress made that will be represented on the overall objective detail page. As Tactic owners execute the plan, they will be notified to provide an update on the goal value, as well as provide any commentary.

What Is Tactics Pro?

  • For customers who have purchased Tactics Pro (formerly Tactics), this feature set unlocks the ability to add next steps and surface blockers on individual Tactics. With Tactics Pro, your team can view all Tactics within the Hierarchy view, will see the Tactics at a Team Level, and will also see the Tactics tab in the Plan Execution Module. Users with Tactics Pro will also be able to assign next steps and blockers to Tactics, helping teams more easily identify risks for key objectives and outcomes.
