You are now able to Tag your Objectives, Outcomes, and Tactics in Elate! Tagging allows you to slice and dice your data in a way that makes the most sense to you.

How to Create Tags from the Company Management Page

If you have the Org Role of “Admin”, you are able to create new Tags by navigating to the bottom left of your navigation panel and selecting “Company Management”.

From Company Management Settings, select “Tags”. This is where you can create new tags to use throughout Elate!

Select "+Add Tag" in the upper right-hand corner.

Remember that tags are designed for you to be able to group objectives, outcomes, and tactics in a way that makes the most sense to you. You might want to tag things for an upcoming board meeting, product launch, etc. Give your tag a name and assign it a color. Press “Create” when you’re done.

Use the three dot menu on the right-hand side of each tag to make edits or delete the tag.

Now that you’ve created some tags, it's time to assign them to your Outcomes, Objectives, and Tactics!

Tagging your Objectives

To tag your Objectives, navigate to your Team’s page and select an objective. Click on the Objective to see the Objective Detail screen.

You’ll notice “Tags” on the right-hand side. Click into the box to select an available tag.

Select what tag you would like to add to your objective and voila! You have successfully tagged your objective.

Note: you can also tag an objective by navigating to your “Plan Execution” tab and selecting “Objectives”, as demonstrated in the "Tagging Your Outcomes" section below.

Tagging Your Outcomes

To tag an outcome, navigate to “Plan Execution” and select “Outcomes” at the top. Select the outcome you would like to tag.

Just like adding a tag for an objective, find “tags” on the right-hand side and select what tag you’d like to apply.

Tagging Your Tactics

Note: Tagging tactics will only apply to customers who have purchased “Tactics Pro”.

To tag a tactic, navigate to your team’s page and select “Tactics” from the top.

Select the Tactic that you would like to tag.

Just like tagging your objectives or outcomes, you will see “tags” on the right-hand side. Select the tag you’d like to apply and you’ve successfully tagged your tactic!

Note: You can also tag your tactics by navigating to your tactics tab from the “Plan Execution” table!

How to Filter with Tags to View Your Data How You Prefer

Company Settings: Tag Table

Elate makes it easy to see how many of your objectives, outcomes, and tactics are tagged by which tag. To see a table of your existing tags, objectives, and outcomes, navigate to “Company Management” again on the lower left-hand side of your screen.

Note: only those with the Org Role of "Admin" can view the "Company Management" page.

Navigate to “tags” at the top. This will show a table of your existing tags, as well as how many objectives, tactics, and outcomes are associated with each tag. Also, take note of the date range in the upper right-hand corner. While tags do not have any time parameters today, the number of objectives, tactics, and outcomes shown in the table will always correspond to the date range in the upper right-hand corner.

(For example, your company might have 3 objectives that are tagged with "MVP Launch" from Feb 2024 - April 2024, but 7 objectives with that tag from November 2023 - January 2024.)

To learn more about what specific objectives, tactics, or outcomes are tagged, simply click on a number in the table. This will redirect you to the corresponding objective, tactic, or outcome(s) that were marked with that tag.

For example, clicking the “1” will direct a user to the “Improve Engineering Efficiency” objective that is currently blocked.

Filtering By Tags

Great news! You can even filter by tags in your Plan Execution table so that you can clearly see what objectives, tactics, or outcomes are tagged similarly. Begin by navigating to “Plan Execution” on the left-hand side.

Select the filter icon in the upper right.

Choose whatever tag you’d like to filter by under “tags”.

The resulting filter will only show objectives with the specified tag.

You can also filter your views via tags for outcomes and tactics as well!
