Setting up a challenge in Business Manager is quick and easy. Just follow these steps to get started:
Go to Challenges from left-side menu
Click “Create Challenge” and enter the following challenge details:
Enter a fun Challenge Name
Select from our 59 activity types (for maximum inclusivity, we recommend choosing ALL activity types)
Decide on the challenge visibility:
Organisation Wide – Visible to everyone in your organisation.
Invite Only – Limited to participants who are given a challenge code.
Choose a Challenge Type based on your goals:
Most kms - Best for purely distance-based activities. The team that logs the most distance wins!
Team Average - Ideal for uneven team sizes. The team with the highest average points wins.
Most Points - Recommended for teams with even sizes. The team with the most total points wins.
Set a team size – you can either specify a fixed number of members per team or set it to Unlimited. Once done, click "Continue."
Next, choose your Challenge Start and End Date/Time.
We provide a preset challenge description, but feel free to personalize it to match your organisation’s tone and goals.
If you want to restrict users from creating their own teams, disable "Employees can create teams." You’ll then be prompted to enter the preset teams yourself.
Decide whether to allow manual activity logging by enabling or disabling "Manual entry allowed." We highly recommend keeping this enabled to ensure inclusivity—this allows participants without wearables or those who forget to log via the app’s tracker (e.g., swimmers) to still add their activities.
Lastly, add a cool cover photo to make your challenge stand out. You can:
Choose from our stock photos by “Select from Library”
Add your own photo (recommended size: 1280x640px)
Once everything is set, click "Save" to finalize your challenge!
Note: Challenge details can be edited as long as the challenge hasn’t started. However, some details, such as team size, are currently not editable in Business Manager. If you need adjustments, feel free to reach out to help@gojoe.com
