Tool selection
Gondola sites don't have a built-in pop-up or announcement bar, but you can add one with an outside tool. Several of our customers like Hello Bar, which has a free plan and works well. Its free plan covers 5,000 views in total, and showing a discount code after someone signs up needs a paid plan.
Pick the tool that fits what you need. For a sale, a weather update, or an email signup with a discount code, Hello Bar is a good place to start. If you need more control over branding, when the pop-up shows, or a link to your email or CRM tool, compare a few options first.
Adding it to your site
Step 1: Get the code. In your tool, set up the bar or pop-up (the text, the colors, when it shows), then copy the install code it gives you.
Step 2: Paste it into your site.
Open the editor at editor.gondola.travel.
In the top menu, click Site, then Site Settings.
Scroll down to Custom Head Scripts and paste the code there. If your tool says to put the code before the closing </body> tag, paste it in End of Page Scripts instead.
Click Publish (top right) so it goes live.
Then open your site and check that the bar or pop-up shows.
