Custom attributes in Goodkind are fields that can dynamically store information. Your CRM often generates and stores data unique to each record. A custom attribute makes it easy to associate information from your CRM to the contact's corresponding record in Goodkind. This means that once the custom attribute is mapped to your CRM, it can hold values such as unique offer letters, promo codes, next ask amount etc. hi

Custom attributes can be text, number, Date or Boolean (to capture values like TRUE/FALSE). In order to create a new custom attribute, start by clicking on the Gear icon for settings. Click on Custom Attributes.

Here is how you can create and use a custom attribute:

Start by clicking on Create New Attribute. A new window will appear to add a new attribute. The mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*).

  1. Give the attribute a name you can recognize and a description. If you are mapping the attribute via Goodkind API make sure that the value in "Name" is the same as you pass in the Custom Attribute Object.

  2. Attributes need a fallback value in the event that an unforeseen event results in a failure to fetch data from the CRM.

  3. Last, choose the type of data that will be stored in the field. It can be one of Text ( which supports all forms of text including URLs), Number or Boolean ( True/False) or Date.

  4. Once you click "Create Attribute" then it will appear on the list on the page. The attribute will then be available to connect via an integration such as Slate or Salesforce. See example below.
