Goodkind has three allocation methods for assigning stories to storytellers. The assignment can be done at Step 3 of the Campaign Builder. You can use the links below to move to each section:
Capacity
When adding a new storyteller or admin, admins have the option to assign the capacity of each storyteller. The capacity rule was the original assignment rule in Goodkind and allowed that storytellers are not assigned more stories to create than their capacity. The default capacity is 1000 stories, so if you choose capacity rule, without checking the capacity it is possible that one storyteller gets the bulk of the assignments.
How do we decide the allocation when there are multiple storytellers with available capacity?
We look at two things, if the storyteller has sent anything in the past to the same contact, we match those contacts to the storyteller. We also use a First In, First Out assigned rule, so the first person you select when selecting storytellers will receive the first batch of assignments. Therefore if the first person has an available capacity of 1000 will probably get all. Let me illustrate with an example. I have a campaign with 17 contacts and the capacity as the assignment rule
In this case, since Michael is the first storyteller, he gets all the 17 stories. If out of those 17 contacts anyone had a prior "relationship" with me (Tarang), then I will get those contacts.
Even Distribution
Even distribution is the most popular and our recommendation for most of your requirements. It is exactly what it sounds. Stories are assigned evenly among all the storytellers. When new contacts are added (via your CRM or manual import), the assignment rule is honoured. So if you had an audience with 17 contacts, the first storyteller will get 9 and the second will get 8.
Manual Distribution
Manual distribution allows you to allocate a specific percentage of stories to a storyteller. When new contacts are added (via your CRM or manual import), the assignment rule is honoured. Make sure the total adds up to 100% before proceeding. You will receive a notification if you the allocation doesn't total to 100%.
