Suggestions allow you to further improve captioning accuracy and reduce the work of editing captions that have similar issues.
To enable suggestions, we built another layer on top of the current captions, so that the captions can be independently checked and corrected and thus avoid any bias from the system that generated captions in the first place.
The new system takes the captions and the confidence level as inputs from the system that generated the captions. We then use a threshold setting ( 40% ) to identify words where the AI has low confidence and apply suggestions. In our experience, this threshold ensured that only the words that are mis-captioned are used to apply the second level check. Next we use the list of suggestions in your workspace. We check how close the current caption is to the word you used as a suggestion. If we see a close match, then the word is updated with your suggestion.
To add a new suggestion, start by editing an incorrect caption in the video pending approval, once the caption is changed, the system will prompt you to save it as a suggestion. Click on “Suggest to Autocorrect”
You can manage your Suggestions from “Captions”.
