Goodkind supports a bi-directional sync with Salesforce. This means that Goodkind uses "Connected Apps" within Salesforce to bring data in and out of Salesforce.

Before you start, here's what you need:

  1. An integration user to connect Goodkind with Salesforce.

    • Don't have one? Not to worry. We advise you choose the person that has access to all of the lists your team will use regularly.

  2. Identify if you have any validation rules for creating an activity record in Salesforce or any workflows connected to New Activity on record.

  3. Sign out of Salesforce to avoid being logged in with an account you don't want to be connected with.

All ready to go? We recommend referring to our handy checklist before connecting!

Importing Data from Salesforce into Goodkind

  1. Login into your Goodkind workspace and press Settings (βš™οΈ).

  2. Click on Contact Importing and select Salesforce. Important to note: we also connect with Sandbox. Please make sure you click the Salesforce icon and NOT the Sandbox icon (see image)!

  3. You will be prompted to login to your Salesforce account. This step will lead you to a Salesforce screen, for which Goodkind cannot see or access your credentials.

  4. Salesforce will inform you of the permissions Goodkind requires. Click Allow and the connection is setup!

  5. Depending on the number of Lists and Reports in your workspace during your initial sync, it may take a few hours for the first sync to complete. The status message will update once the sync is complete.

  6. Once complete, your screen will look like this:

πŸ’‘ If you plan to bring data in from custom objects into Goodkind, please share the list of custom objects that you use with Reports and share them with your Success Manager.

Setup Your Sync Method

Now, let's setup your sync method and your preferred sending method for contacts.

All web admins can select the Reports and List Views brought in by the user who made the initial connection. The permissions from Salesforce to view a list does not apply within your Goodkind account.

Lastly, make sure you bring in your Salesforce ID as a custom attribute and map it. This ensures that when you send the data back, it knows where to write it back into.

  2. Select the Salesforce icon.

  3. Use your credentials to connect. We recommend using the same credentials that were used for bringing data in. However, it can be a different account.

  4. Once connected, it will look like this:

  5. Setup your syncing schedule and mapping (automation).

  6. When setting up mapping, ensure that your Salesforce ID field is mapped in. Otherwise, the connection will not work.

  7. Once connected, Goodkind will add a "Call" type task in the Activity section of the user. Currently, the task type cannot be changed due to a limitation in Salesforce.
