Empathy is a key skill for student recruiters, because it helps you build trust and rapport with your audience.

One way to show empathy in your videos is to acknowledge the unique situation and challenges that your prospect students may face. For example, they may be a first-generation college student, or they may need financial aid, or they may have other personal or academic difficulties. By recognizing these issues and showing how you can help them overcome them, you will make your videos more relevant and relatable.

Here are some examples of how you can do this:

- Start your video with a personal story or anecdote that relates to your prospect students' situation. For example, if you are a first-generation college student yourself, you can share how you felt when you applied to college and what resources or support you received.

- Ask open-ended questions that invite your prospect students to share their thoughts and feelings. For example, instead of saying "Do you have any questions?", say "What questions do you have?" or "How do you feel about applying to college?"

- Provide specific and actionable information that addresses your prospect students' needs and concerns. For example, instead of saying "We have a lot of scholarships and financial aid options", say "We have scholarships and financial aid options for students who meet certain criteria, such as GPA, income level, or extracurricular activities. Here are some examples of how you can apply for them."

- End your video with a clear call to action that encourages your prospect students to take the next step. For example, instead of saying "Thank you for watching", say "Thank you for watching. If you want to learn more about our college, please visit our website, sign up for our newsletter, or schedule a virtual tour with me."

By following these tips, you will be able to create videos that are more empathetic and effective for your prospect students. You will also be able to showcase your personality and passion as a student recruiter. Remember, empathy is not only a skill, but also a mindset. It requires practice and feedback, so don't be afraid to experiment and learn from your mistakes.
