⚠️ Note: You can only add created contacts to manually uploaded audiences — They won’t be added to your CRM.
Here's how to add an Unknown Contact to an audience:
Access the message with the Unknown Contact: Navigate to your inbox and find the message from "Unknown Contact". Click on the message to open the conversation.
Create a Contact: In the conversation view, in the top right corner, you'll see the option to create a new contact.
Add Contact information: A form will appear where you can input the contact details. You should include the contact's name and which audience this contact should be assigned to. You can only add the contact to manually uploaded audiences you have access to.
Email is optional, but preferred:
If Email is added, the Sending method will be Email and SMS
If no Email is added, the Sending method for this contact will be only SMS
If no email is provided, a placeholder email "[phoneNumber]@sink.sendgrid.net" is set to prevent sending unintentional emails.
Save the Contact: Once you've filled in the contact details and assigned them to an audience, click on the Save button. The unknown number will now be added as a contact within your selected audience!
