How to add your LinkedIn connections via data export

Get your LinkedIn connections into Goodword in a few steps.

Written by Emma Madgic

LinkedIn lets you download a copy of your connections at any time. Once you have the file, you can upload it to Goodword during onboarding.

Step 1: Go to LinkedIn Settings

Log in to LinkedIn on desktop. Click your profile photo in the top right corner, then select Settings & Privacy.

Step 2: Open Data Privacy

In the left navigation, click Data Privacy. Then select Download your data.

Step 3: Choose the full archive

Select Download larger data archive, which includes your connections and contact information.

Step 4: Request the file

Click Request archive. LinkedIn will email you when your file is ready. This usually takes a few minutes, but can take up to 24 hours.

Step 5: Download the file

Open the email from LinkedIn and click the download link. You'll get a ZIP file — save it somewhere easy to find.

Step 6: Upload to Goodword

When setting up your Goodword account, select Upload LinkedIn Data and upload the ZIP file you just downloaded.
