To track churn rate effectively, use the "Terminated" job status. This status is designated for customers who have canceled all future services and terminated their contracts. Once this status is applied, all recurring jobs associated with the customer will be removed automatically.

To terminate a service:

  1. Open an active job, click the current job status, and change it to "Terminate Service."

  2. Enter the Termination Reason:
To complete this action, a termination reason must be provided. Ensure the reason is accurate, as this data cannot be edited after submission.

  3. Permission Requirement:
The user must have the 'Delete Job' permission enabled to perform this action.

When a job is terminated:

The "Job Repeat" will be set to OFF, and all associated recurring jobs will be deleted.

In addition:

  • The invoice linked to the job will be voided.

  • The action is irreversible, and the job status cannot be changed.

  • You will no longer be able to move, resize, or reassign the job from the calendar.

  • Inside the customer's account, the job will be moved from "Active" tab into "Canceled" tab.

Check the number of terminated jobs on the dashboard within a given time frame.

You can also pull your terminated job list from the report.

  1. Go to the Service Lookup reports.

  2. Click on the Job Status filter and select the 'Terminate Service' job status from the dropdown.

  3. Click 'Update'.

You can also add the 'Termination Notes' column to view the reason for termination.

Note:

  • The "Terminate Service" status differs from the "Canceled" job status:

    • Cancel job status acts like skipping it, keeping recurring jobs scheduled

    • While terminate service job status deletes all future jobs.

  • Users that do not have the permission to delete a job will not be able to terminate a job.

  • If you terminate a previous job in a recurring job series, the current active job and future jobs will remain.

    • Sample scenario: You completed the first job, then the second job will become active. If you terminate the first job, the second job and all recurring job will not be deleted.

  • If you accidentally terminated a job but the customer still wants to continue the service, you need to create a new job to replace it. The cancellation reason is a required field to avoid this mistake. Additionally, you must delete the wrongly terminated job to ensure the churn rate is accurate.
