You can use the manual estimation tool right within the GorillaDesk mobile app.
Before you begin, ensure the Map Estimation Tool is included in your add-ons and fully configured. If it's not set up yet, follow the Map Estimation Tool (Manual Drawing) article for step-by-step instructions.
To use the estimation drawing tool in the app, just follow these easy steps:
1. Define the service location
a. If you are currently on the service address that you want to estimate, you can just open the map then tap on the estimation tool icon on the lower right side of the screen.
b. If you need to add a property estimation to an existing customer address:
Open the customer profile
Go to Service Locations
Tap the three dots next to the desired location
Select Edit Location
Scroll to Property Estimation and tap Open Map
Once the estimation tool is enabled on the map, it will automatically switch to satellite view and zoom in on the selected location.
2. Draw on the map using the estimation tool
You will see various drawing tool available that you can use.
a. Property Category Selector - Select a category that matches the type of area you intend to estimate.
i. Lawn
ii. Hedges & Bushes

d. Measure toggle - When turned on, this option displays all relevant measurements directly on the drawing for easier reference.
e. Normal Mode / Bend Mode - In Normal mode, you can resize or rotate the shape or drawing. Switch to Bend mode to adjust or create curvature, allowing for more flexible, freeform editing.
2.1. You can start by selecting the property category you intend to outline. Click the Lawn icon located above the Estimation Tool icon. To choose a different category, click the arrow-up button to view all available estimation categories.
2.2. Next, select the shape you will use for the drawing. You can use a polygon, a square, a circle, or a line.
2.3. Now, on the map, begin outlining the specific areas you’d like to estimate by drawing around them.
Every time you draw on the map, you will see the total area measurement of each element right on the upper left of the map.
2.4. To adjust your drawing or reassign it to a different property element, tap the drawing to enable editing mode. Then use the following tools:
a. Rotate: Tap the rotate icon until the drawing is at your desired angle.
b. Move: Tap and hold the move icon, then drag the drawing to the new position on the map.
c. Resize: Tap any corner or point of the drawing and drag to resize.
d. Add Angles (Bend Mode): Tap the Bend Mode icon, then tap any point on the drawing and drag to adjust the shape.
e. Reassign: Tap the dropdown in the top-right corner of the map to assign the drawing to a different property element.
f. To change a measurement: Tap the measurement at the center of the drawing, enter the new value, and tap Save.
3. Save your estimation
Once you are done, click on the 'Save' button. You will have the following saving options:
Create New Customer
Opens the New Customer form, where you can enter the required customer details. The location address will automatically populate the Service Address fields.
Assign to Existing Customer
When you select this option, a modal will appear, allowing you to search for an existing customer.
If the address has not yet been assigned to any customer, click on the customer’s name. On the Select Location screen, tap the + icon to add the new location to the customer’s account along with the property estimation.
If the address is already assigned to a customer, search for the customer's name. From the list of locations associated with that customer, select the appropriate location. The property estimation will be added to that location.
Please note that only one area estimation can be saved per property location.
To access a saved estimation:
Open the customer profile
Go to Service Locations
Tap the three dots next to the desired location
Select Edit Location
Scroll to Property Estimation and tap Open Map
