Broadcast
Broadcasts allow you to send one-off messages to a group of customers on your calendar backdated up to 90 days and into the future 90 days. These broadcasts are saved as templates completely customizable by you.
Note: Broadcasts will be sent to any customers on the calendar within the specified date range. If the same customer has multiple services scheduled within the specified date range, they will receive the broadcast message for each of those jobs.
Only SuperAdmin and Admin users have access to this messaging option. Technicians cannot send broadcasts.
Broadcasts are not a replacement for marketing emails and are not intended for mass emailing all your customers. Broadcasts are designed for notifying a group of customers with current jobs scheduled.
This function is also available on our mobile app.
Email and SMS Blasts
This option is available in Smart View if you are on the Growth plan.
The Smart View Email and SMS Blast feature allows you to send bulk emails and/or text messages to all customers included in the selected list.
The smart view email function will use your own email connected under Add-ons > Email Inbox. This means that your email limit and reputation will be used when sending an email blast. Please check your daily sending limit with your email provider.
The email templates available for your email blast are pulled from Settings > Email & SMS Templates > Email Inbox.
The SMS function allows you to send a bulk message to all customers in your current Smart View.
Configure your SMS blast settings by selecting the company number you will be sending from, choosing a template, and specifying whether to send the message to the customer’s primary contact or to all contacts listed under the customer’s account.
Please note that sending bulk SMS through this option will use your available SMS credit.
SMS Per Credit Charge Notice:
SMS credits are based on message segments.
Plain text uses up to 160 characters per credit.
Emojis, special characters, and personalized fields may reduce the character limit and increase credits used.
For example, using a single emoji reduces the limit to 70 characters per credit.
When an SMS contains Emojis, Accented characters, or Special characters, the system switches to Unicode encoding. This drastically reduces the character limit per segment, resulting in higher credit charges.
Triggers & Examples:
Emojis:
😀,🚀,🔥(Note: Complex emojis like the family icon👨👩👧👦can use up to 8 Unicode characters alone).Accented Characters: Vietnamese tones or letters not in the standard Latin alphabet (e.g.,
á,ạ,ồ,ử,ệ,đ).Special Characters / Smart Punctuation (often from Copy-Paste): Smart quotes (
""instead of", or‘’instead of'), long dashes (—), and ellipses (…).
Character Limit & Segment Rules:
Plain Text (GSM-7): The 1st segment holds up to 160 characters. From the 2nd segment onwards, it drops to 153 characters/segment. (Example: 161 plain characters = 2 segments).
Unicode Text (With Emojis/Accents/Special Chars): The 1st segment holds up to 70 characters. From the 2nd segment onwards, it drops to 67 characters/segment. (Example: 71 characters containing a single emoji = 2 segments).
