An API is a developer/technical tool that lets two different software systems communicate with each other.
For example, an API can be used to:
Integrate your software with another system
Have a developer build something using your software
Connect custom software to your system
Use an API key or API documentation
The GorillaDesk API allows developers to connect other software to GorillaDesk and access your business data and features. This documentation explains what the API can do and how developers can use it.
GorillaDesk's public API is available as an add-on for Pro users.
To activate this feature, go to Add-Ons > API > then activate.
After activating, you can click the add API Key button to generate a new unique API Key. Just input the name for the key then click Create API Key.
This API Key will be used for token authentication when you are integrating GorillaDesk's API to your Business' website or application.
Once a new API Key is generated, you can copy that key and use it for your integration.
Within the API add-on page, you can also manage your API Keys. You have the option to:
Edit - Rename the key
Settings - Grant Inbound Leads notifications access
Delete - Revoke access and delete key
Once an API key is deleted, it's no longer retrievable and you will have to generate a new key to replace it.
