Route Optimizer

This powerful tool will auto-magically route your jobs within a specified date range, in the most efficient order.

First, you will need to make sure the Route Optimizer add-on is enabled in Settings > Addons > Route Optimizer.

Once enabled, the routing feature is accessible at the top left corner of your calendar.

Once clicked, it will redirect you to a page like this below:

Basic Plan

Basic Plans come with an optimizer that uses proximity (vs roads) to route, not actual streets for directions. You are able to optimize 24 stops at one time on the Basic Plan.

---

Drive Matrix (Pro Plan)

Drive Matrix provides smarter logic, utilizing actual street routing & drive times, and will help maximize the efficiency of your route.

You are allotted 2500 drive matrix connections per month and each optimization will require a specified number of connections to optimize depending on the complexity to produce the final route.

Connections

What is a connection? GorillaDesk equates a "connection" as a logic jump to determine the best route possible using street data.

A single day’s route will usually require 1 or 2 connections to construct the route. Routing more advanced or complex routes will require more connections to complete your route optimization.

When setting up your routing preferences the system will provide you with an estimated amount of connections before you process the optimization. This way you can see how many connections are used before utilizing them.

2500 connections are provided on your Pro plan and will refill every month.

You can view your total connections remaining in Settings > Addons > Routing Optimizer.

Route Optimizer Setup

The Route Optimizer addon will allow you to rearrange jobs within the specified date range, in the most efficient order. Below are step-by-step instructions for setup:

Jobs within: Any jobs scheduled within this specified date range can be optimized.

Job Statuses: Optimize confirmed, unconfirmed, rescheduled, pending confirmation, and/or pending booking status jobs.

Drive Buffer: With Drive Matrix enabled, optimize your jobs using actual drive time incorporated between each stop. You also have the ability to incorporate a set drive time between stops (5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 1 hour). This is still a great option for Basic Plan users.

Jobs Per Day: Autofill the number of stops you'd like per day, or set a custom number of stops per day.

Optimize To: The date your optimized jobs will start.

Start From: This will allow you to choose if you'd like to start from the closest job, the farthest job, or from a specific job on your calendar.

Exclude: Exclude specific days of the week when optimizing your route.

Starting Address/Ending Address: The starting and ending point the Route Optimizer will use when calculating your most efficient route.

Distance Type: Miles or Kilometers.
