GorillaDesk's Job Magnet feature locates nearby jobs within a specified mile radius and date range. This allows you to efficiently pull jobs closer to specific jobs, optimizing your schedule and reducing travel time.
This feature is available in V3 desktop and in Growth Plan only.
You can enable this under Add Ons > Route Optimization
1. Go to Addons > Route Optimization
2. Turn ON the toggle for Job Magnet (Power up).
Once this feature is enabled, you can proceed with setting up the job magnet parameters and permissions.
3. Click the 'Manage' button.
4. The values entered in the Max Miles and Day Range fields will serve as the default parameters for the job magnet.
Max Miles - This parameter defines how far from a specified location jobs can be targeted or offered. For example, if you set a mile radius of 10 miles, the job magnet will only consider jobs within that distance.
Day Range - This parameter defines the number of days within which the job magnet searches for nearby jobs. For example, if you set a day range of 7 days, the job magnet will only include jobs scheduled within the next 7 days.
You can choose values from 0.25 up to 10 in the dropdown or enter your preferred custom value.
5. Next, you can manage which users are permitted to use the job magnet feature. Simply toggle the switch under the Permission column to authorize specific users to access and use the job magnet feature.
Using Job Magnet in Calendar
When you navigate to the calendar, you will see the magnet icon located in the top-right corner.
1. Click the magnet icon.
This is supported in Day, 3-Day, 4-Day, Weekly, and 2-Week views but is not available in 3-Week, 4-Week, Monthly, or Agenda views.
2. You will see the magnet icon will be available in each job tile.
The job magnet will only search for nearby jobs scheduled for the following day and will not suggest jobs for the same or previous days.
There are two ways to use the job magnet:
First option: Click once on the tile. This will highlight the nearby jobs on the following days that is within your calendar view. Nearby jobs will show the number of miles and the drive time to the current job you clicked.
Second Option: Click the magnet icon to open the Job Magnet modal.
On the left, you'll see a list of nearby jobs based on your parameters, arranged from nearest to farthest. The middle section displays the calendar view of the job you selected, and on the right, there's a map view showing the location of the jobs, providing a visual representation.
You can drag and drop job tiles from the left column into your calendar view to easily schedule them.
3. In the calendar view within the Job Magnet modal, the target job is highlighted and pinned on the map with a magnet icon to indicate its location.
You can click on a different tile, and it will automatically update to display nearby jobs based on the newly selected target job.
4. You can also adjust the distance and day range of the Job Magnet within the modal and also select another schedule to view in the calendar. You can set the new parameters as the default by clicking on 'Set as Default.
Important notes:
The job magnet will only search for nearby jobs scheduled for the following day and will not suggest jobs for the same or previous days.
Job magnet can only be used on active jobs.
The job magnet includes nearby jobs that have active status, reschedule, custom job status, and recurring jobs.
