If you are unable to submit your Tax Return using your own HMRC ID Gateway details, you are able to make the submission using our credentials provided a successful ID check is completed within two attempts.
In order for us to do this, you must complete an ID check using our third party verification software (Stripe verify).
They do accept some driving licenses but passports are more widely supported. Please see their article for more details on accepted ID per country. To summarise quickly, the countries that are accepted can be seen in the table below:

If your country isn't listed, please contact support via email on support@gosimpletax.com.
If the ID check is unsuccessful twice, you will be unable to submit your Tax Return using our HMRC gateway ID. This is disclosed in our Terms and conditions and a refund will not be issued.
If you have your own HMRC credentials and they failed, you will either need to contact HMRC and fix your account or print your PDF, sign page TR8 and send it to HMRC by recorded delivery.
