Breakout rooms are a great way to provide more segmented conversations within virtual events and group calls. Breakout rooms can be created in meeting or webinar events, in roundtables and meetings within livestream or hybrid events and also at the community level in roundtables.

Steps for creating breakout rooms:
While in the call, a host will select the Activity icon at the base of the video.
Host will create the number of breakout rooms (up to 50 rooms), and assign users currently in the room in two ways:
Automatically: The number of users will be automatically divided amongst the number of breakout rooms the host creates. eg. 10 users into 2 breakout rooms = 5 users per breakout room.
Manually: Host assigns each user into the rooms.
3. The breakout rooms will end after the amount of time allocated. Users will receive a notification that the breakout rooms are ending within the call.
💡 Pro Tip: Designate one host (if there are multiple hosts) that will coordinate and configure breakout rooms. The assignment isn’t collaborative, so it’s best to have only one host responsible so one doesn’t override the other’s efforts.
